Focusrite announced that it is now shipping the Mac OS X Version of Liquid Mix, a 32-channel, DSP powered vintage EQ and compressor plug-in system with a dedicated control surface. The company expects to ship a PC version later in 2006.
With Liquid Mix, 32 classic EQs and 32 vintage compressors can run simultaneously in a mix. Each of Liquid Mix’s 32 channels provides compressor and EQ emulations selected from a huge pool of high-quality vintage and modern-day classics. Forty compressors and 20 EQs are available out of the box, with an expanding library online. Furthermore, users can build a hybrid, 7-band “super EQ” out of separate classic EQ sections in every one of the 32 channels.
Each channel appears as a separate VST/Audio Units/RTAS effect within the sequencer and will work within all major applications, including Digidesign’s Pro Tools. Liquid Mix works with Pro Tools HD and LE via the FXpansion VST to RTAS wrapper which is included with the Liquid Mix at no extra cost. This requires Pro Tools Version 7; operation with earlier versions of Pro Tools will require the full FXpansion VST to RTAS wrapper software, available online from www.fxpansion.com.
