The L.A. Studios Inc., an audio post-production company, celebrates its 25th anniversary this month with a panel discussion on Saturday, June 11th at the Below the Line EXPO at Raleigh Studios Hollywood, Los Angeles. Focused on the role of audio in the creation of movies, television, commercials, video games and multimedia, the panel will feature experts in the field discussing the contribution of world class audio post production to the finishing process.

Founded in 1980, The L.A. Studios, Inc. has grown to reportedly become one of the largest, employee-owned audio post-production firms in the United States, operating three facilities in the Los Angeles area: LA Studios, Margarita Mix Hollywood and Margarita Mix de Santa Monica.

Credits include recent movies Shark’s Tale and Madagascar and Super Bowl ads for Ford and Honda, in addition to its work on music videos, DVDs and video games.

“In today’s instantaneous, visually-oriented world, newer is often misperceived as better. However, one can only acquire the nuances required to perfect a mix after years of experience. Our longevity is a testament to our ability to stay ahead of a fast moving curve,” said Jesse Meli, president/CEO of The L.A. Studios Inc. “Resting on laurels is counter to our core values. We are passionate about sound and creating an environment that is conducive to our clients accomplishing their goals quickly and comfortably.”

Moderated by Geoff Nathanson, general manager marketing and strategy of Margarita Mix Hollywood, the panel will feature voice-over casting director Dawn Hershey; feature film post supervisor Brad Goodman, Marty Lipkin; former creative director at DDB LA; and J. Walter Thompson, Los Angeles and Margarita Mix de Santa Monica chief mixer Jimmy Hite.
