MOTU Introduces MicroBook Audio Interface

MOTU’s new MicroBook ($269) is a USB bus-powered audio interface for Mac and Windows in a compact size small enough to fit inside a pocket. The MicroBook has a stereo line level analog input (balanced TRS ¼-inch or stereo mini); stereo balanced TRS ¼-inch line level main outs; stereo “1/8-inch mini” line level out and a S/PDIF digital out that duplicates the main output.

The mic preamp offers Precision Digital Trim, a 20dB pad and 48-volt phantom power for condenser mics. Digitally controlled analog trim is available for all analog inputs, while digital trim is available for all outputs. The MicroBook also has programmable analog, digital and headphone outputs as monitoring options.

MicroBook’s 10-bus digital mixer can route and mix live inputs with live computer tracks. The MicroBook further offers CueMix FX no-latency mixing and monitoring with EQ and dynamics processing; 7-band parametric EQ and compression; test tone and white/pink noise generator; audio analysis software, including FFT display, spectrogram “waterfall” display, oscilloscope, X-Y plot and phase torch; Mac and Windows audio drivers (Core Audio, Wave and ASIO); AudioDesk DAW software for Mac; a USB cable; and mic cable adapter.
