Burbank, CA… Royer Labs, a leading manufacturer of high quality ribbon microphones, is pleased to announce its co-sponsorship of the Studio Prodigy | Master Class Series. A new audio engineering program founded by engineer / producer Ryan Hewitt and studio designer Hanson Hsu, the Studio Prodigy | Master Class Series is geared toward anyone wanting to hone their mixing skills by learning from the industry’s top professionals.

The Studio Prodigy | Master Class Series is an ongoing set of training sessions that will launch on February 23rd. Geared toward advanced students, musicians, composers, and working engineers, the program requires an in-depth knowledge of audio terminology, DAWs and the mixing process. Sessions take place at Universal Mastering Studios in Los Angeles and feature a rotation of top tier audio engineers including Ryan Hewitt, Vance Powell and Ross Hogarth, with more to be announced as the series progresses.

Session One | Hybrid Mixing Techniques runs from 10 AM to 6 PM. The class moves from session setup and signal flow optimization to building the mix and finding your sound. As part of the initial session, attendees will have an opportunity to listen to products from a variety of the program’s sponsoring companies—making this an excellent opportunity to get an up-close-and-personal look at many of the hottest studio tools in addition to learning new skills. Further, attendees will have a chance to win software from SoundToys and a UAD-2 Quad DSP Accelerator card from Universal Audio. Every Studio Prodigy Session concludes with time for Q & A with the hosts and a gear and beer fest, where attendees can learn more about the latest equipment from representatives of the session sponsors.

“Hanson and I have put a great deal of conscious thought into how to pass on the knowledge that was taught to us by our mentors,” says Hewitt. “So much of what is essential to our daily careers is experiential: one needs to hear it while watching someone do it. Studio Prodigy brings the ability to ‘Hear Everything’ in a great sounding room with guys who do this every day.”

John Jennings, Royer’s VP of Sales and Marketing, is equally enthusiastic about the new Studio Prodigy Master Class Series. “This new program is an invaluable opportunity to learn from some of the best audio engineers in the industry,” said Jennings. “Producing and engineering today’s recordings not only requires critical listening skills and a firm grasp of signal flow, there is a tremendous amount of technological expertise that goes into the use of the software, hardware, automation, and other aspects of the recording and mixing process. I genuinely believe the Studio Prodigy | Master Class Series offers all who participate a terrific opportunity to expand their skills in the business that we are all passionate about.”

Tickets for each session will be limited to 25 participants and are available at $500 each. Tickets are available at http://studioprodigymcs.com/tickets.html.
