The founder of Woodshed Recording, Richard Gibbs, has written the scores for over sixty feature films and various television series, including Battlestar Galactica, the Simpsons, Dr. Dolittle, Say Anything, and Queen of the Damned. He was formerly the keyboardist for the seminal L.A. band Oingo Boingo and worked extensively as a session player and arranger for artists such as Tom Waits, Aretha Franklin, Robert Palmer, and War. He has also served as record producer for Eisley, Korn, and Richard Page, among many others.
Woodshed Recording provides a unique creative environment, with a flexible wall system overlooking the Pacific thru a dozen French doors and windows. Coldplay, U2, Barbra Streisand, Kanye, and many others have made this their destination studio of choice. Some have opted to take over the entire 1.5 acre property, with its separate two story, four bedroom house, organic gardens, pool, jacuzzi, sauna, and private beach rights. Replete with a 65″ rolling video monitor, 5.1 speaker system, and deep writing rig, the studio is also a film scoring and ADR facility of the highest order.
