Veteran producer Chuck Ainlay remixed Mark Knopfler's latest album, Sailing To Philadelphia, in 5.1 surround sound on a Sony DMX-R100 digital console at Air Studios in London, where they had originally mixed the album.

Ainlay and Knopfler completed the surround version with Tim Vine-Lott engineering the sessions. Warner Bros. will release the 5.1 remix as a DVD-Audio.

Having never worked on the Sony R100 board before, both Ainlay and Vine-Lott were impressed by the board's automation, sonic clarity, ease of use and short learning curve.
