Acclaimed composer Bear McCreary has mastered the new 2-CD soundtrack “Battlestar Galactica: Season 4” at Bernie Grundman Mastering with engineer Patricia Sullivan Fourstar and music co-producer Steve Kaplan. The composer explores new musical soundscapes with his score to the fourth and final season of the critically lauded Sci-Fi Channel television series starring Edward James Olmos, Mary McDonnell, James Callis, Tricia Helfer and Katee Sackhoff.

McCreary enriches his distinctive and inventive mix of orchestra, vocals, rock, world-beats and synth, creating a sonic experience that resonates even beyond the popular television show. Disc One collects Season Four’s best musical moments up to “Daybreak,” the series finale, which is presented on Disc Two. A 20-Page CD booklet contains exclusive liner notes from the show’s cast and crew.

In addition to completing “Battlestar Galactica’s” final season, Bear is currently scoring Fox’s hit “Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles,” the next chapter in the iconic “Terminator” franchise. He recently scored “Caprica,” the highly anticipated “Galactica” prequel film and has signed on as composer for the full series in 2010. He also scores Sci Fi Channel’s highest-rated series, “Eureka.” McCreary’s feature film work includes Warner Bros.’ “Rest Stop,” (2006), its successful sequel “Rest Stop: Don’t Look Back” (2008), as well as Twentieth Century Fox’s “Wrong Turn” (2007) starring Henry Rollins. Both “Rest Stop” and “Wrong Turn 2” quickly became the best-selling straight-to-DVD films in their studios’ histories.

Released on July 21, “Battlestar Galactica: Season 4” marks the 100th soundtrack release from La-La Land Records.
