Los Angeles, CA (October 5, 2026)—Apogee Electronics may be revered for its interfaces, but its software offerings have always been considerable, too, with plug-ins like the Clearmountain Tools Series and its Pultec emulations becoming go-tos for the production community over the years. Now all Apogee plug-ins are available at Plugin Alliance.
The move comes less than three months after Plugin Alliance and Brainworx were re-acquired by Dirk Ulrich, their founder, joining Apogee Electronics—which Ulrich purchased last November—under his family-owned umbrella company RCKFRC.

With the move to Plugin Alliance, the various Apogee plug-ins have also been freshened up, with resizable windows, simpler licensing, and with the jettisoning of iLok requirements. That said, existing iLok versions will continue to work, and Apogee advises that users keep them installed and authorized to open existing sessions.

Existing Apogee plug-in users will receive the corresponding Plugin Alliance versions at no charge, and now get three activations per license, up from the previous cap of two. The Mod EQ 6 and Mod Comp will not be making the move, however; Apogee reports users of those plug-ins “will receive upgrades to premium EQ and compressor options from the Plugin Alliance catalog” for free.
