EAW Supports Decibel Festival

For this year’s Decibel Festival in Seattle, WA, an Eastern Acoustic Works (EAW) Avalon system was chosen as the primary sound system for the five-day electronic music event, held September 25 to 29.

Whitinsville, MA (October 24, 2013)—For this year’s Decibel Festival in Seattle, WA, an Eastern Acoustic Works (EAW) Avalon system was chosen as the primary sound system for the five-day electronic music event, held September 25 to 29.

Decibel Festival’s Technical Director Vance Galloway reported that Avalon’s performance throughout the four days of live shows went over well with the audience and performing artists. As a systems tech and touring sound engineer specializing in electronic music, Galloway remarked, “Today’s electronic music is redefining the requirements for PA systems. Extended bass, extreme transients and reliance on ultra high fidelity are hallmarks of the new era of electronic music, and frankly, most PA systems simply can’t keep up.”

The Avalon system deployed at the Decibel Festival included CLUB.two high-output, full-range loudspeaker systems, the SUB.two hybrid subwoofers, and the double 21-inch SB2001. In addition, compact CLUB.three full-range systems made an encore appearance as near-field monitors at multiple venues. Horne Audio supported the events with Lab.gruppen amplification.
