Austin, TX (November 7, 2017)—The Texas Union Theater at University of Texas in Austin recently got an audio update, designed and installed by Ford Audio-Video Systems.
The venue hosts films and live events, but is relatively narrow, with little space available for installing a system without blocking sightlines. Ultimately Ford project engineer Charles Croley opted to use Fulcrum Acoustic loudspeakers, flying left/right Fulcrum FL283 four-module line arrays that seamlessly cover the room without obscuring the screen or projector.
A pair of Fulcrum CX Series coaxial loudspeakers were deployed as center channel loudspeakers in a small open ceiling space above the stage lip; meanwhile, a CX1295 12-inch coaxial speaker covers the near field and a CX1265 handles the 70-foot long throw to the back of the theater.
Elsewhere, two Sub218L dual 18-inch subwoofers live under the theater’s stage, providing low frequency reinforcement.
