Massachusetts-based Scorpio Sound fielded its recently purchased JBL VerTec line array sound system for two large-scale radio station holiday shows and five arena dates with the Boston Pops Esplanade Orchestra. “To have the same rig fly well and sound good with a rock band at 115 dB one day and a symphony orchestra at 85 dB the next day is remarkable,” says Kevin Delaney, crew chief for the Boston Pops shows and both radio show concerts…As the recently appointed chief engineer at Hispanic Broadcasting Corporation, Raul Velez has overseen a major upgrade of the company’s San Francisco studio.
