AES 123rd Convention Offers Live Sound Events

Scheduled for October 5 to 8, 2007, at New York’s Javits Center, the AES show is offering numerous live sound events from co-chars John Kilgore and Henry Cohen.

Church & House of Worship Audio and Acoustics features Tom Young of Electroacoustic Design Services moderating a three-hour panel on “The Many Obstacles In HOW, and What We Can (and Cannot) Do About Them.” Issues ranging from budget to design and install, service to training and operation will be examined from the perspectives of the client, consultant, contractor and operator. (Friday, Oct. 5, 9 a.m. to noon).

Concert Sound System Design, Setup & Operation, and the Creative use of Digital Mixing Technology sees Robert Scovill moderating a panel of concert sound veterans.

Other live sound events include “Large-Scale, Multichannel, Multi-System Wireless Design, Deployment and Operation,” “Musicals—From Broadway to Las Vegas,” “White Space Status Report,” “An Interview With Abe Jacob” and “Sound System Alignment & Acoustic Measurement.”
