The Vans Warped Tour has partnered with leading online digital entertainment distributor Altnet to distribute and sell DVD-quality downloads of Warped Tour show footage the day after each concert event. Concert-goers will be able to purchase, download and burn videos from the Warped Tour Website (www.warpedtour.com/unwired.html), Altnet Websites and partners, including Kazaa. The videos will be available in three ways: as daily singles, daily compilations and, eventually, a whole-tour compilation.
L.A.-based production company Aloha Films will videotape each of the tour’s 48 live shows through multiple high-definition video cameras (using a “helmet-cam” in the mosh pit) and an audio feed taken directly from the sound board, ensuring pristine quality. The film will be edited on site to facilitate quick delivery.
The Vans Warped Tour, now in its 10th year, began June 25 in Houston, TX and will finish August 20 in Foxboro, MA. Among 160 acts slated to perform throughout the festival are Bad Religion, Alkaline Trio, Flogging Molly, Sugarcult and NOFX. Bands that appear on Altnet’s compilations will vary.
