New EAW Smaart Version 6 for PC and Mac has been released and is available for download at the EAW Website, www.eaw.com/smaart.

This download can be run as a fully functional 30-day demo, and can be unlocked into a full license through the online purchase of a Smaart V. 6 license code for $795. Additionally, as an EAW-branded product, Smaart V. 6 can also be purchased as a physical software package via the standard EAW dealer and distributor network.

Version 6 features a re-write of its underlying architecture that enhances multitasking, in addition to a new streamlined interface and full compatibility with Macintosh OS X. Version 6 is now a Universal application designed to take full advantage of the performance increases delivered by Intel-based Macs. It is now built from a unified cross-platform source base with near-complete parity between both Mac OS X and Windows versions, in addition to working with Core Audio and ASIO drivers.

Version 6 can also receive multichannel inputs via ASIO under Windows or Core Audio on Mac OS X, enabling selection of measurement signals from a multichannel device within Smaart. (Current Smaart users preferring to switch to the Mac version need only to pay the standard upgrade fee.)

The update also has dramatically increased capability for storing, recalling and displaying a virtually unlimited number of reference data traces such as frequency response and RTA. All captured measurements are now stored directly to the hard drive to prevent accidental loss due to power failures or other interruptions. Advanced trace averaging capabilities have also been added.
