L-Acoustics Kudo Gets Kudos

L-Acoustics reports that Kudo, the company’s horizontal and vertical line source array, has sold more than 1,000 Kudo boxes worldwide since its introduction in Q4 of 2004.

L-Acoustics reports that Kudo, the company’s horizontal and vertical line source array, has sold more than 1,000 Kudo boxes worldwide since its introduction in Q4 of 2004.

Among the systems sold went to Big Mo Productions, a sound system rental company (Parsippany, N.J.), which took delivery of 24 Kudo elements and LA48a amplifiers in March. Also, Carnegie Mellon University (Pittsburgh), which purchased eight Kudo enclosures in May 2005 that are used for most of its larger indoor and outdoor music and entertainment events. V-DOSC owner and L-Acoustics dealer Hollywood Sound in McKees Rocks, Pa., provided the system.

Kudo has been used in installations such as the recent system upgrade at the Great American Music Hall (San Francisco), taking place this month. The historic location, which is more than 100 years old, was designed after the 1906 earthquake. A new Kudo rig comprising 10 elements, with complementary ARCS and 112XT coaxial speakers, plus all L-Acoustics Series power amplification, will replace the venue’s most recent generation of sound system.
