Malaysia’s Kuala Lumpur Convention Center Brings in Lake Contour

Ten Lake Contour Pro 26 digital speaker processors have been integrated into the installed and mobile sound reinforcement systems at the newly opened Kuala Lumpur Convention Center in Malaysia. According to the regional distributor for Lake Technology, the Lake Contours were chosen for the technical advantages of the filter design and the integration of control and tuning capability using the tablet PC.

Six Lake Contour processors are integrated into the audio system in the main Plenary Hall, a two-level, tiered seating venue that accommodates 3,000 people and is intended for concerts, opening ceremonies, conferences and product launches. The processor system, controlled by a wireless touchscreen tablet, is being used to optimize a L/C/R speaker system. In addition to advanced sound, lighting and audio/visual systems, the hall incorporates state-of-the-art conference facilities, including an interactive microphone system and built-in multilingual interpretation systems.

The smaller Plenary Theatre on the convention center’s third floor is outfitted with three Lake Contour processors controlling a smaller L/C/R speaker setup. A more intimate venue than the Plenary Hall, the theater offers auditorium-style tiered seating for 500 delegates and is similarly outfitted with state-of-the-art audio/visual and conference facilities, including digital voting and in-seat writing tablet facilities. A third mobile P.A. system, optimized by a single Lake Contour, is additionally available for use throughout the convention center. The theater and mobile Lake Contour systems are supplied with wireless touchscreen tablets that provide full access to the Lake Controller software from any seat in each venue.

Integrated Audio Visual of Malaysia supplied the audio equipment in accordance with the designs of audio consultant Eric Wong of CCW Acoustics in Singapore.
