Sennheiser has released a new white paper,” RF Immunity (RFI) and Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) of Sennheiser Installed Sound Microphones: Background, Procedurs and Results,” about its Installed Sound (IS) Series of pro mics and its use with RF requirements. The paper provides background to the interference issue, describes Sennheiser’s test procedures and presents the results and conclusions of the test.
Sennheiser chose to follow a critically higher standard set by the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) and developed a test protocol to scientifically measure the effects of broadband electromagnetic interference on the installed series. The measurements were taken in a special RF chamber with special high-resolution attention paid to the four frequency ranges used by cellular telephones and close-proximity conditions.
