SLS Loudspeakers Hit NYC’s New Nightclub: 17

SLS Loudspeakers announced that 17, one of New York’s newest nightclubs, installed multiple SLS speakers. “We decided to do everything high end with this club and wanted the sound system to match,” says JP, owner of 17 and its sister club, Suite 16. “A friend of mine highly recommended the SLS units after he installed them in his Miami nightclub. These are by far the best speakers I’ve ever listened to. The sound detail is amazing, especially with the incredible bass and high end.”

Veteran audio engineer, Anthony Aquilato, owner of Earshot Audio Resources, installed the SLS system into the new nightclub. “Most DJs aren’t concerned with distortion coming from the speakers,” says Aquilato. “They like to play the music really loud, get the LEDs in the red and have people out on the dance floor. One of the great features of the SLS units is that they can get blistering loud and the high end is smooth and clear. There is no distortion.”

Aquilato strategically arranged the speakers that are used on the dance floor to be separate from the bar area, but can ultimately feed them together into the DJ system.

“Any club-goer who’s ever had to repeatedly shout a drink order just to get the bartender to hear them should immediately be impressed by the attention to audio detail at 17,” says Jeff Lowry, director of marketing for SLS Loudspeakers. “We are very excited that the people at 17 have discovered the difference the SLS units make in the club environment. The versatility of our speakers systems overcomes many challenges in the nightclub setting.”

In addition to the DJ booth, the sound system is set up for live performances. 17 is scheduled to have jam sessions with Jimmy Vivino of Late Night with Conan O’Brien and Will Lee of Late Night With David Letterman.
