Whirlwind has acquired an EtherSound license and will offer EtherSound-enabled versions of its digital audio over Ethernet products such as E-Snake.
“Whirlwind’s E Snake has already been recognized industry-wide as a leading-edge product in the transition to digital audio signal distribution,” said Whirlwind’s president Michael Laiacona. “By adopting EtherSound connectivity, we’re expanding E Snake’s versatility. EtherSound gives us a flexible path to the future of Ethernet audio networks.”
Other recent licensees include console manufacturers Allen & Heath and DiGiCo, systems manufacturer QSC and power amplifier manufacturer Bittner Audio, along with building systems specialists Mediachip and Archean Systems.
