WSDG Launches Mexico City Division

The principals of Walters-Storyk Design Group’s new Mexico City office, from L-R: Silvia Molho, Alex Arzate, Martin Garcia “El Oso” Castillo, Mike Moreno, Nacho Rettally and Sergio Molho.

To better serve the growing Latin American market for professional recording studio design and construction, the Walters-Storyk Design Group has opened a full-service office in Mexico City. Developed under the guidance of Sergio Molho, long-time head of Buenos Aires-based WSDG SA, the new Walters-Storyk Design Group Mexico branch will specialize in acoustical consultation, design and construction.

The office is headed by four industry veterans: executive producer/engineer Mike Moreno, engineer/sound designer Martin Garcia “El Oso” Castillo, CFO Alex Arzate and musician/producer/composer Nacho Rettally. Co-founders of Mexico City’s leading Equiscosa Studio, they represent a vast source of technical and production expertise, and invaluable ties to Mexico’s music business. Sergio Molho will serve as CEO for the new division, and Silvia Molho has been named director of marketing.

“We have long considered Mexico and Latin America our second home,” says WSDG principal John Storyk. “My partner and wife, Beth Walters and I take great pride in the ongoing success of our Latin America office in Buenos Aires and our Brazilian branch headed by Renato Cipriano in Berlo Horizonte. Cumulatively, we have over two dozen employees in those offices, including a number of extremely talented designers and project managers. We have collaborated on many exciting projects over the past decade, and we anticipate an equally successful working partnership with our new Mexico City partners. In fact, we first met them in 2003 when they retained us to design and build their thriving Equiscosa Studio.”
