Santa Monica, CA (July 9, 2012)—The Recording Academy Los Angeles Chapter recently hosted Grammy FutureNow, a day-long conference produced by on Saturday, June 23, 2012, at the Broad Stage in Santa Monica, CA.

Topics included how different social media platforms can converge to create a consistent revenue stsream; how a band becomes part of a brand and the importance music plays in launching new products; how EDM has crossed over to the mainstream and more.

One notable presentation was led by Grammy-winning engineer Andrew Scheps (Adele, Audioslave, Linkin Park, Metallica, Red Hot Chili Peppers); titled “Lost in Translation,” it guided attendees through an auditory experience, examining the difference between an artist’s mastered track and different consumer formats including vinyl, CD, MP3, AAC and streaming.
