Skywalker Sound (Marin County, Calif.) will be installing a Neve 88R console on the Scoring Stage for both film scoring and music recording/mixing projects. Skywalker Sound will debut the console in October.

The 72-fader 88R offers Skywalker Sound a scoring panel, 48 remote mic preamps, a great EQ package and surface controls, high-performance automation and processing, as well as extensive routing and recall flexibility.

“We are very excited to have the 88R,” said Leslie Ann Jones, recording engineer and director of music recording and scoring at Skywalker Sound. “It is truly the next level of aural quality and console flexibility that we have been waiting for. Remote mic preamps and true LCR panning are just two of the many new features we are looking forward to using. It has the routing and the automation features that we need, as well as the ability to switch between stereo, 5.1 and film surround at the press of a button. The sonic quality of the console is unbelievable.”
