Telefunken North America has been debuting its newly manufacturedELAM 251 condenser microphone at studios in Southern California, withthe trip ending in Ocean Way’s Studio D. The new Telefunken mics wereset up alongside the vintage models from Ocean Way owner Allen Sides’renowned mic closet, with a talented and dynamic vocalist providing thesound source.
Sides remarked after the demonstration, “All of thecharacteristics that make the ELAM 251 exceptional were there, and theoverall sonic signature fit in perfectly with the rest of mycollection. I can say without reservation that the new Telefunken ELAM251 is everything I hoped it would be.”
The company is currently focused on producing the microphones one ata time and has plans to expand its product line in the near future.
