When Creative Studio Solutions Inc., a Colorado-based studio design and engineering firm, was contracted to conduct the installation of Entravision’s 27 networked studios in Los Angeles, they chose Neutrik’s connectors.
“Because of the quantity of pre-wire and cables we do, we find that the installation time is cut down tremendously by using Neutrik connectors,” stated Andrew Rosenberg, CEO and chief engineer for CSS. “Their track record for providing quality products and service is tremendous.”
Located on Wilshire Blvd. in Los Angeles, the Entravision installation included nine on-air studios, nine production studios and nine imaging studios, all interconnected at the request of Entravision’s owners and operators. Neutrik products were used throughout the entire studio/master control/routing system.
“This installation was a huge system designed specifically for Entravision,” Rosenberg continued. “It is a router-based system with audio in every studio going through the router instead of through the mixing board. Entravision wanted the ability to swap audio around everywhere, to bring audio up in any studio they wanted. Accessibility in all 27 studios was imperative and Neutrik connectors definitely helped facilitate matters.”
CSS pre-built all the wiring harnesses at its facility in Wheat Ridge (CO), utilizing over 2,500 pieces each of Neutrik’s IDC type XLR cable connectors, NC3FEZY-B and NC3MEZY-B, and over 100 each of the P Series-type XLR solder cup receptacles, NC3MP and NC3FP-1. Upon finishing the pre-built wire harnesses, CSS shipped them out to the Los Angeles studio for final installation.
