The Nebraska Educational Telecommunications Commission (NETC) has brought two Euphonix System 5 boards onlince recently. A newly purchased, 72-channel System 5 is being installed in NETC’s new high-definition remote unit, which is scheduled to be operational this summer.

The new HD remote truck will be used for sports productions such as volleyball, football and baseball and for music concert production throughout Nebraska. The 48-channel System 5 will be installed in its renovated studio production facility, in which NETC produces a weekly State-wide news magazine show, in addition to educational and public affair programs (town hall meeting, interviews) and dramatic and music productions.

Assistant director of engineering for production, Percy Logan, said,” The System 5 is very well-priced for the sound quality that it offers. The console ranked high above the others because of these two major factors: value and quality. By purchasing two operational identical consoles, our audio engineers can move from the studio to the remote environment without having to relearn the console and, in turn, concentrate on delivering the best sound mix.”
