Solid State Logic announces the availability of its Duende ($1,899) DSP platform for PCs and Intel-based Macintosh computers. SSL will ship the new versions of Duende in November 2006. Duende was exhibited on both PC and the latest Intel processor Mac systems at the recently concluded 121st Audio Engineering Society Convention.
Duende is a 19-inch rackmount unit that integrates console-grade SSL channel and dynamics processing within a digital audio workstation. It gives users a fixed number of processing channels of genuine SSL audio processors, and its algorithms are based on SSL’s C Series digital consoles. Duende includes an authentic SSL channel strip with filters, E and G Series EQ and dynamics processing and the SSL Buss Compressor. Duende’s onboard DSP runs SSL audio processing without imposing on the host computer’s CPU. It also offers access to an online mentoring program.
