Two Studer Vista 7s have been installed at the Digital Media Center (DMC) multimedia facility at Hong Kong Cyberport. The sale was orchestrated by Studer’s regional distributor, ACE (International) Co. Ltd.
Already operational, Hong Kong Cyberport’s DMC – manned by a professional staff on a 10,000-square-foot footprint – consists of a multimedia lab and video/audio studios. It is being geared to spearhead the development of digital entertainment in Hong Kong, with the headquarters of many multinational IT companies already in the area.
The aim of the complex is to support content developers and multimedia professionals, although anyone interested in being a part of the creative digital universe can benefit from the facilities and expertise at the DMC. Equipment – such as postproduction facilities and multimedia workstations – is available to rent, allowing graphics rendering and 3D scanning, animation, motion capture, high definition video, and much more to be realized.
The Vista 7s have been installed in two studios, one of which is used for TV production and the second as a surround studio and post room.
The two consoles are similarly configured, with 40 AES inputs and outputs, 24 analog line I/Os and 16 mic inputs. A 30-fader Vista 7, fitted with motorized joysticks, has been detailed for the surround studio, while a 20-fader Vista 7 has been commissioned in the TV studio.
Another international, Studer-equipped studio, Nevafilm Studios in St. Petersburg, Russia, reports a 15 percent increase in productivity since installing a Studer Vista 7 digital production console in its main dubbing stage.
