Studio Technologies will introduce the Model 72 Level Meter/Interface at AES 2004.
The unit enables studio and “in the field” audio engineers to monitor IFB and intercom audio signal levels. In addition, the Model 72 provides transformer-isolated, line-level outputs for various interfacing applications.
The Model 72 is housed in an aluminum enclosure and is powered by the connected IFB or intercom circuit. It’s intended for a wide range of broadcast, theatrical and industrial applications.
The Model 72’s two 5-segment LED meters allow for direct observation of the audio signal levels. It also buffers and amplifies the audio signals associated with IFB and intercom circuits, providing two transformer-isolated, +4 dBu nominal line-level outputs. These outputs can serve as the link between a traditional “wet” (DC with audio) IFB system and a wireless in-ear monitor or IFB system, or can then be connected to line-level inputs on an audio console, allowing IFB or intercom audio signals to be combined and/or routed to other local or remote talent or production personnel cue systems.
The Model 72 is compatible with most IFB and party-line intercom circuits. No external power supply or batteries are required, and inputs and outputs use standard 3-pin XLR-type connectors.
