Universal Studios in Hollywood has added four Harrison film consoles to its studios—three fully upgraded MPC3-Ds and Harrison’s latest, the MPC4-D.

The 112-fader MPC4-D, loaded with 640 inputs, shipped in May and will be installed in the studios’ Hitchcock Theater. The addition of the three MPC3-Ds and MPC4-D brings Universal Harrison Digital Film Consoles inventory to seven, with two SeriesTwelves now in use at their new BluWave facility.

The new MPC4-D features built-in TFT display screens above all faders with a visual representation of Harrison’s PreView™ waveform-envelope, channel name, stem assignments, EQ graph, dynamics graph, aux sends, input metering and a panning display. Harrison’s IKIS™ Automation platform as well as two Digital Tools Cards (DTC™); featuring 64 onboard bus limiters, audio looping, and a comprehensive package of “film specific” software plug-ins, accompany the console.
