Edmeston, NY December 8, 2016 — Sound engineer and producer Count (Mikael Eldridge) talks about mixing Tycho’s new album “EPOCH.” Hear why they decided to move beyond mixing Pro Tools in the box and how the Dangerous 2-BUS+ was chosen as the best summing mixer solution for Tycho’s intricately  layered music. Tycho’s “EPOCH” album is nominated for a 2016 GRAMMY Award for “Best Dance/Electronic Album.

Count also reveals the importance of using audiophile multi-channel digital-to-analog converters for preserving critical sonic details when mixing with analog summing and shares how the Dangerous CONVERT-8  DACs made the difference in delivering the superior sound he and Tycho desired.

“On this album we wanted to take things to the next level, we really wanted to make a no compromise album. We were able to get better punch and better stereo imagery, and a better sense of three-dimensionality with the 2-BUS+. The combination of the 2-BUS+ and the Dangerous CONVERT-8 DACs was just the thing we were looking for for this album,” says Count, and adds that finally “the ability of the 2-BUS+ to dial in just the right amount of additional color was a deal-breaker for us.”

Originally from Austin, Texas, Count (Mikael Eldridge) has been involved in just about every aspect of the music business. Working through the 90's in San Francisco at various record labels [Polygram, Verve, PopMafia, and Ubiquity], he acquired a vast knowledge of the music business while continuing work as an engineer, mixer, and producer.
