STEVEN TRACY OF THE MYRIAD AUGMENTS VERSATILE STYLE WITH EVENTIDE’S MODFACTOR STOMPBOX

Currently touring with an Eventide ModFactor, Steven Tracy of Seattle-based rock band, The Myriad, is exploiting the versatility and high performance of Eventide’s newest stompbox. Tracy, a guitarist, pianist and keyboardist, purchased the ModFactor for its high-quality modulation effects and portability while The Myriad, MTV2’s Breakout Band of the Year, travels across the United States.

The Myriad recently released the album “With Arrows, With Poiseâ€? (Koch Records) and was featured on MTV as the “Artist of the Weekâ€? at the time of the release. The album was mixed at Hansa Studios in Berlin, Germany by Michael Ilbert (The Cardigans, Kent, The Hives) and mastered at Abbey Road Studios in London, England by Adam Nunn (Air, Radiohead, Franz Ferdinand, George Martin, Mogwai), as well as at acclaimed Sterling Sound in New York City by Greg Calbi (Beastie Boys, John Mayer, Interpol, Norah Jones). Since the album’s release, the band has toured extensively, playing with bands such as Lovedrug, mewithoutYou, Mutemath and As Tall As Lions.

The diversity of The Myriad’s music requires a comprehensive effects box that features immediate access to customized controls and studio quality performance. “The Myriad’s genre of music is very diverse and artistic and we need to replicate a wide variety of modulation effects to provide the same sonic complexity that we achieve in the studio, Tracy said. “I chose ModFactor because it produces tremendous effects and because its capabilities are seemingly endless.

ModFactor delivers studio quality performance with the speed and convenience of a stompbox. ModFactor also provides an added level of flexibility with built-in capabilities such as: a plug-and-play expression pedal input for control of wet/dry mix, or any combination of parameters; MIDI program change and parameter control; instrument or line level inputs and outputs; and seamless adaptation with a wide variety of amps and other foot pedals.

Commenting on the application, Eventide Vice President of Sales and Marketing, Ray Maxwell said, “With the range of tools available to recording artists and producers, it’s gratifying to see how today’s top performers, engineers and producers naturally gravitate to Eventide stompboxes in the same way rock icons Led Zeppelin and Frank Zappa used the original Eventide rack-mount processors to create their own signature sound.
