TRANSAUDIO DISTRIBUTES LEHMANN HIGH-END HEADPHONE AMP

LAS VEGAS, NEVADA – DECEMBER 2009: TransAudio Group, a U.S. distributor of high-end pro audio gear, is happy to introduce Lehmann Audio’s Black Cube Linear headphone amplifier to the U.S. market by adding it to its Las Vegas Pro Audio catalog of truly inspired products. Using only the finest components and an obsessively audiophile signal path, the Black Cube Linear is ideal for computer mixing, live monitoring, studio recording, or any professional application where truthful, fatigue-free output is paramount. Its circuitry and adjustable maximum output gain optimizes performance for any headphone impedance or sensitivity.

The Black Cube Linear’s specifications hint at the distinctive aural experience awaiting users whose expectations have been unwittingly lowered by exposure to the profusion of cheap headphone amps that reside even in otherwise “pro” gear! Frequency response extends from 10 Hz (-0.3 dB) to 35 kHz (-1 dB). The

signal-to-noise ratio is better than 95

dB at 0 dB gain, with greater than 70 dB channel separation at 10 kHz. Total harmonic distortion is less than 0.001% at 6 mW and 300 ohms. Selectable gain (0, 10, or 20 dB) effectively optimizes the output level of the zero global feedback Class A output stage.

“Finally, a good sounding headphone amp!” said TransAudio President, Brad Lunde. “Norbert Lehmann works as both an audio engineer and an electrical engineer, and the Black Cube Linear reveals the powerful synergy between those complementary facets. Any pair of headphones sounds noticeably more dynamic and transparent through his amp, but high-end cans are simply transformed. The Black Cube Linear is a welcome addition to the U.S. market and we’ll offer it direct on Las Vegas Pro Audio to get this product to market as fast as possible. We expect it to be available at dealers nationwide soon.”

The Lehmann Audio Black Cube Linear sells for $1,100 U.S. MSRP. Dual headphone output jacks enable multiple listeners. The stereo analog input is XLR and a second XLR parallel output allows the unit to sit between an input and its final destination without disrupting the signal flow.
