Airshow Mastering in Boulder, Colo., Masters ‘Glee: The Music’

Beginning with last season’s “back nine” episodes of Fox TV series Glee, Airshow’s senior mastering engineer, Dominick Maita, has been mastering the chart-topping digital downloads and physical CDs/EPs of Glee: The Music. Airshow has provided the finishing touches to Journey to Regionals, The Power of Madonna, Volume 3: Showstoppers and Rocky Horror Glee Show, a body of work that includes releases that have achieved Number One on the Billboard Charts and been certified Gold.

Airshow has also been providing instrumental masters for Glee Karaoke, the show’s official iPhone and iPad app that allows users to record a voice track on top of the music and sweeten it using pitch correction, harmonies and reverb. According to the iTunes Store, Glee Karaoke is the Number One music app in 21 countries.

Airshow works with Anders Music on these time-sensitive weekly productions, and is the final step before Columbia Records releases them to fans worldwide on the same day the Fox network broadcasts a new Glee episode.

“We are under tight deadlines and rely on Airshow to deliver top notch masters under stressful circumstances,” explains Adam Anders, owner of Anders Music Inc. “We’ve been happy with their excellent communication during this process and completely trust that the final masters will meet our standards.”

The Airshow team in Boulder, Colo., dedicated to working with Anders Music on Glee includes Maita, studio/project manager Andrew Starr and assistant engineer Anna Frick.

According to Airshow’s Andrew Starr, “Working with Anders Music on Glee is a great example of our ability to meet the needs of large-scale productions. Glee‘s unique delivery requirements and tight deadlines bring out the best in the Airshow team.”
