Avatar Studios Reports on April 2011 Sessions

Avatar Studios in New York City recently announced several notable sessions that took place during the month of April.

Ingrid Michaelson was in Studio A recording for an upcoming release with producer David Kahne; engineer Roy Hendrickson was assisted by Fernando Lodeiro.

Elvis Costello recorded a song for a film in Studio B with engineer Kevin Killen, assisted by Aki Nishimura.

Nick Swisher was in Studio C recording an album for kids with producer Loren Harriet and engineer Danny Bernini, assisted by Tim Marchiafava.

Lionel Richie and Jennifer Nettles recorded a duet in Studio C with producer/engineer Nathan Chapman, assisted by Aki Nishimura.

VHS or Beta was in Studio G mixing with engineer Martin Brumbach, assisted by Fernando Lodeiro.

The Gaddabouts were recording in Studio A with producer/drummer Steve Gadd, engineer Andy Smith, and assistant engineer Bob Mallory.

Vince Giordano & The Nighthawks recorded with Regina Spektor in Studio A for HBO’s Boardwalk Empire. Stewart Lerman produced and engineered, assisted by Bob Mallory.

The cast album for Baby It’s You was recorded in Studio A with producer Richard Perry; Frank Filipetti engineered, assisted by Charlie Kramsky.

Promotional ads for People In The Picture were recorded in Studio A with producer Andrew Eisenhower, engineer Robert Smith assisted by Bob Mallory.

Promotional ads for Catch Me If You Can were recorded in Studio C with producer Scott Riesett, engineer Todd Whitelock, and assistant engineer Tim Marchiafava.

The Brad Mehldau Trio recorded in Studio B with producer Brad Mehldau, engineer James Farber, and assistant engineer Fernando Lodeiro.

Producer/artist Christian McBride mixed recordings of the Christian McBride Big Band in Studio C with engineer Joe Ferla, assisted by Fernando Lodeiro.

Theo Croker was recording in Studio A with producer Dee Dee Bridgewater, engineer Anthony Ruotolo, and assistant engineer Bob Mallory.

Finally, the Columbia University/ASCAP Film Scoring Workshop took place during the first week of April. Film scores for four short films were recorded in Studio C and mixed in Studio G. Alex Steyermark produced with engineer Jason Stasium, assisted by Fernando Lodeiro and Tyler Hartman.
