Heil Sound Sponsors Sweet Relief Musicians Fund Benefit

Heil Sound has signed on as a sponsor of the “Night of Sweet Relief” on October 15, a multi-venue celebration of live music benefiting the Sweet Relief Musicians Fund, a nonprofit organization devoted to securing health care for uninsured musicians. The event involves hundreds of live sound venues—arenas, theaters, clubs, and bars—which will donate $1 from the ticket sale or cover charge for that evening.

House of Blues, Knitting Factory, Tipitina’s, and The Roxy, to name just a few, have signed on as participating venues. Heil Sound has provided a microphone package valued at $2,500 for a drawing, as part of its involvement.

Greg McVeigh—whose company, Guesthouse Projects, handles PR and artist relations for Heil Sound—first heard of Sweet Relief after being contacted by Les Butts, a Los Angeles–based sales rep and musician who has worked with Sweet Relief on various fundraising projects.

“The ‘Night of Sweet Relief’ event hit home with me on many levels,” McVeigh says. “It is about live music, going to your local club and hearing a band. Plus it helps those who have put in the years playing music. And let’s face facts, playing music for a living doesn’t exactly come chock full of job benefits. Sweet Relief is great at helping those in need.”
