The first prize packages for the winners of Guitar Player’s Guitar Superstar 2011 competition have been announced.
Taking place on Saturday, July 23, 2011, during the summer NAMM show’s “Wanna Play Music Day” in Nashville, Tennessee, Guitar Superstar pits five finalists chosen by the Guitar Player staff in a battle of licks. A panel of celebrity judges—including Reeves Gabrels, Carl Verheyen, and Muriel Anderson—will select the Guitar Superstar champion and two runner-ups. Guitar legend Larry Carlton is the host of the event.
The current prize packages are as follows: The 2011 Guitar Player’s Guitar Superstar champion will win a prize package that includes two Ampeg amps, a Framus guitar, EMG pickups, a D’Addario gift certificate, a Levy’s Leathers strap, pedals from Lovepedal and Pigtronix, and a digital album contract with Guitar Player Records (distributed by MI5/Universal). The first runner-up will receive prizes from Reverend Guitars, EMG, D’Addario, Levy’s Leathers, Lovepedal, and Pigtronix. The second runner-up will snag goodies from EMG, D’Addario, Levy’s Leathers, Lovepedal, and Pigtronix.
