Advanced Technology and Systems Co. (Yokohama, Japan), a mass-storage manufacturer, has completed an initial investment in the privately held mSoft Inc. (Woodland Hills, Calif.), developers of library search and retrieval engines.
According to Naresh Chadha, ADTX senior VP and U.S. general manager, the investment was based on a predicted volume of market penetration for the coming year. “ADTX placed this strategic investment because mSoft’s volume of terabytes delivered this year grew 500 percent compared to last year. Their strategic partners in the music industry…and the partnership with the digital audio workstation manufacturers convinced ADTX’s board of directors that mSoft’s potential of delivering 100,000 terabytes of production music systems worldwide can be realized with our help.”
