One Systems Heads To Hong Kong

Hong Kong, China (September 19, 2014)—The Wong Tai Sin Temple, situated on four-and-a-half acres in Hong Kong, recently commissioned DinoTech Ltd. to design a new audio system that would provide paging and traditional background music throughout the interior and outdoor areas. The resulting distributed audio system of 15 zones combines 70 One Systems 103IM, 108IM and 112IM direct weather loudspeakers.

The injection molded One Systems enclosures utilize a copolymer material developed for use in harsh weather environments. The grille assembly is a 3-layer design intended for acoustic transparency and protection from windblown particles and water.

The 103IM loudspeaker is loaded with a high-frequency driver coupled to an elliptical constant-directivity horn, and a 4-inch woofer for extended bandwidth response. The 108IM and 112IM are loaded with 8-inch and 12-inch woofers respectively. Both utilize One Systems patented ET driver technology, which have a unique “equivalent throat” design that allows its radiation pattern to be controlled by the phase plug’s summation plane, instead of the conventional “exit diameter” at the end of the driver’s structure. The ETS and ET-1 drivers have a pure titanium diaphragm and a close-spaced circumferential ring phase plug for extended high-frequency bandwidth.

The Wong Tai Sin Temple sound reinforcement system is powered by four Lab.gruppen C 28:4 amplifiers. A Biamp AudiaFLEX DSP audio platform monitors and controls the 15 zones.
