The Badroom introduces the Galaxy II Grand Piano Collection ($285), a Mac OS X/Windows XP/Windows Vista plug-in equipped with Native Instruments’ Kontakt 2 engine and featuring three grand pianos: a Steinway D, Bösendorfer 290 and a 1929 model Blüthner baby grand. The collection comprises more than 6,000 samples in 24-bit audio quality. It’s available as a stand-alone plug-in and also supports VST, Audio Units, RTAS and DXi formats.

The sample collection offers up to 13 modeled velocity zones for a wide and smooth dynamic range; real sustain resonance and release recorded at multiple time and velocity levels; soft-pedal samples (una corda) for the Bösendorfer and Blüthner baby grand; adjustable hammer, pedal, damper and string noises; sympathetic string resonance with real overtones; sostenuto and redamper pedal functions; a Velocity editor; convolution reverb with multiple rooms, halls and ambience settings; a specially designed compressor for creating pop-piano sounds; Pad Machine for generating atmospheric synth pads; single-knob control of tone color, warmth, low end, loudness, punch and dynamics; adjustable stereo width and position; and more.
