Tascam in Montebello, Calif., announces its iXR USB Audio/MIDI interface with iOS connectivity ($259.99 MSRP/$159.99 street). The iXR iXR is bundled with Steinberg Cubase LE for Mac and Windows, as well as Cubasis LE for iOS, and connects to an iPhone or iPad via the standard iOS Lightning or 30-pin connector, without the need for special adapters or mini-plugs.
The iXR offers two of TASCAM’s Ultra-HDDA mic preamps with phantom power, mic and instrument-level inputs, zero-latency monitoring, and MIDI In and Out. It supports up to 24-bit/96kHz resolution.
With balanced stereo outputs, the iXR can also serve as a bridge between an iPad and a concert sound system. The iXR enables an audience to hear software synthesizer apps such as Cakewalk’s Z3TA+ and moForte’s GeoShred.
