Nettetal, Germany (December 14, 2010)–Germany-based Elysia has debuted its Alpha compressor plug-in (TDM, RTAS, VST and AU), which is the software reincarnation of the company’s mastering compressor.
The Alpha reportedly gives the user an emulation of the sound and features for which the hardware is known, programmed by the coders from Brainworx. While the Alpha is geared toward final stage of mastering use, it is also a tool for mixing; Elysia includes a dedicated mixing version with a reduced interface in the package.
Features include Integrated M/S matrix, mid/side and stereo processing modes; Auto Fast, attack and release in any situation; Feed Forward and Feedback, two selectable compressor characteristics; Sidechain Filter, frequency selective compression; Parallel Compression, mixing direct and compressed signals; Soft Clip Limiter, more headroom, more loudness; Audio Filter, tweaking the sonic structure; Warm Mode, instant signal coloration.
