Gefen Inc. recently announced the availability of three small-sizeextension modules that connect computer devices at long distances usinginterface formats such as PS/2, RS-232 and stereo audio, effectivelyspanning hundreds of feet between computer and device. Each extensionsolution operates through small sender and receiver units that areconnected by network-wiring CAT5 cable and run on a five-volt powersupply.
The PS/2 Extender is designed to extend a PS/2 keyboard/mouse orprojector/mouse combination, The RS-232 Extender works with an RS-232touchscreen or tablet and the Audio Extender is designed to extendaudio devices such as personal CD players, speakers and microphones.All extended devices will function in any range, up to 1,000 feet fromthe computer.
