Digidesign announces the upcoming release of Eleven, a new virtual guitar amp plug-in for Pro Tools, VENUE live sound and Avid systems. Available in TDM, RTAS and AudioSuite plug-in formats, Eleven provides guitar amplifier, speaker cabinet and microphone emulations for creating realistic guitar tones.
Thanks to extensive research conducted with some of the industry’s leading guitar players, recording engineers and music facilities, the amp-modeling techniques employed in Eleven carefully emulate nearly every characteristic of guitar amplifier and speaker cabinet sound. This allows the Eleven plug-in to implement sonic intricacies such as speaker cone breakup, amplifier sag, cabinet resonance, ghost notes and more. By integrating technically challenging and often-overlooked characteristics, Eleven’s emulations promise a virtual amplifier setup that feels and reacts to a player’s individual style and techniques in a way similar to that of a live amplifier.
Eleven offers emulations based on amps and cabinets from Vox, Fender, Marshall, Mesa/Boogie and Soldano, as well as custom Digidesign creations inspired by revered amplifier designs. Eleven also features convolution-based speaker cabinet and microphone (on- and off-axis) modeling, the latter of which features emulations of popular dynamic, ribbon and condenser microphones. Eleven offers a broad selection of amp model configurations, and allows independent selection and bypass of the amp and miked cabinet models.
Eleven will be available in two versions—Eleven and Eleven LE. Eleven will support TDM, RTAS and AudioSuite plug-in formats for use with Pro Tools HD, ICON and VENUE systems. Eleven LE will support RTAS and AudioSuite plug-in formats for use with Pro Tools LE and Pro Tools M-Powered systems.
Digidesign is currently offering a 30-day trial of a prerelease version of Eleven for qualified Pro Tools and Avid system users. The trial version is a free download from the Digidesign Website. It is available for Digidesign-qualified Pro Tools HD, Pro Tools LE or Pro Tools M-Powered systems running Pro Tools Version 7.1 or higher software (Pro Tools 7.3 or higher recommended), and for qualified Avid Xpress, Avid Xpress DV or Avid DNA systems (AudioSuite only).
At this time, only the TDM version of the Eleven trial is available to Windows users, and there is no trial version available for VENUE users. Mac users can download the Eleven trial in TDM, RTAS or AudioSuite format.
