Paris-based facility EAV recently purchased a Fairlight HD DREAM Factory system, which is powered by Fairlight’s CC-1 engine, becoming the first CC-1 customer in France. EAV was created in March 2006 by parent company Melodia to develop Mediatour, a television channel designed to promote local tourism in France. The channel has been on the air since June 2006. EAV handles production and post-production responsibilities for Mediatour’s programming.
With the goal of expanding its services to include documentaries and publicity films, EAV needed a system that could handle a variety of projects. “We were looking for an open platform with a fast and intuitive response,” says Thierry Possémé of EAV. “I like to work on a system in confidence. With the HD DREAM Factory, we will have the best of both worlds: open architecture and the stability for which Fairlight products are known.”
Based on Fairlight’s Constellation-XT large format mixing system, the HD DREAM Factory provides an integrated and comprehensive HD production system that includes a Pyxis HD nonlinear video system.
“With the new Fairlight products, we will have the ability to work on several formats in a short time and respond to all our clients,” Possémé adds. “I look forward to growing our business with the Fairlight system.”
