Euphonix reports strong sales in Central and Eastern Europe; specifically, Slovenia, Poland, and Slovakia, for their System 5, Max Air, and System 5-MC digital audio consoles.
RTV Slovenia, the state radio and TV broadcasting company in Slovenia, has taken delivery of its second Euphonix System 5-BP digital audio mixing console together with a processor upgrade for their first System 5-BP installed in studio 14. A 48-fader system with dual DSP cores, the new console is going into Studio 26 at the Radio Center in Ljubljana—a completely refurbished music studio. The new System 5-BP will be used for music recording, mixing and live broadcast. RTV also have a Euphonix Max Air console for National News broadcasts, originally installed in 2004.
On air since 1956, Poland’s public broadcaster TVP (Telewizja Polska) operates two nation-wide channels and another ten local channels throughout the country. One of them, located in the city of Bydgoszcz, recently placed an order for a Euphonix Max Air digital audio console. A 40-fader system with 96 channels, this Max Air represents TVP Bydgoszcz’ first digital system, which was selected after a protracted search that involved several digital console manufacturers.
TVP’s new Max Air will be installed with Euphonix’ router integration solution, which facilitates the patching and sharing of audio sources and destinations between multiple rooms. Euphonix’ Audio Facility MADI Routing System solves one of the major problems inherent in large audio facilities-connecting large numbers of analog and digital sources (with different formats and sample rates) together, without the need for a patchbay. The system utilizes the Euphonix StudioHub in conjunction with PatchNet, an on-screen digital router that replaces a conventional patchbay and handles all console inputs, outputs, and internal routing.
Earlier this year the ATM Group in Wroclaw and TVN both installed Euphonix System 5-B consoles in their OB trucks. Like the TVP installation TVN also installed the Euphonix router integration package, this time integrated with the truck’s Thomson VM 3000 router.
STV (Slovenska Televizia), the Slovakian state broadcaster, recently took delivery of its second Euphonix Max Air digital audio console. A 40-fader system with 96 channels, the new desk will be used for news and on-air broadcast studio operations. Additionally, STV also purchased two 16-fader System 5-MC DAW controller interface system for use with Steinberg’s Nuendo. Both System 5-MCs will be used for on-air audio production in two specially constructed studios. The choice of the Euphonix controllers comes after several options were auditioned, and STV has joined a growing stable of converts to the power of controlling DAW systems via the System 5-MC.
