Audio One Inc. has completed installation on two recording environments for hard rocker/reality TV star Ozzy Osbourne. The company handled installation of Osbourne’s fully-loaded home as well as a mobile Pro Tools rig for the Ozzfest tour.
With multiple recording projects approaching, Osbourne needed two complete studio systems; one for live and one for his newly repurposed guest house in Beverly Hills, Calif. Under the guidance of Audio One president David Frangioni, the company’s technicians installed Pro Tools systems containing a variety of HD Process cards, 192 interfaces, and plug-ins by Digidesign, Waves, McDSP, Serato, Sound Toys, Antares and others. The state-of-the-art home studio is featured in MTV’s Meet the Osbournes Episode 303.
“Ozzy is in touch with technology but he goes by what he hears, and his ears are amazing — he knows a great performance when he hears one,” says Frangioni. “He definitely likes the sound of analog, but he’s worked enough with Pro Tools digital to know that he can make it sound as analog as he needs it to sound.”
