Propellerhead, Berklee Announce Reason License Agreement

Propellerhead Software and Berklee College of Music announced a school-wide license agreement for Reason software.

Propellerhead Software and Berklee College of Music announced a school-wide license agreement for Reason software. The site license provides a complete, full-functioning copy of Reason to every computer on campus and provides for updates into the future. The site license, for over 4,500 Berklee students, faculty and staff, is the largest to date for the Swedish company.

Berklee requires every student to have his/her own laptop computer. Starting with this fall’s semester, each of these laptops comes preloaded with Reason 3.0. As a result, faculty can now accept native Reason files for class assignments and individual projects. File sizes are much smaller than standard audio, often taking as little as 30-40 KB as opposed to even-compressed MP3 formats, which are several MB with reduced sound quality. Additionally Reason files can be shared and worked on collaboratively as adding or editing parts, changing mixes or effects and trying out different sounds is a snap.

Visit www.propellerheads.se for more information on Reason 3. To learn more about Berklee College of Music, go to www.berklee.edu.
