The METAlliance (Music Engineering and Technical Alliance) announces that Sonnox will support the second “In Session with The Guys” event, which takes place February 19-20, 2011, in New York City at Avatar Studios. Sonnox plug-ins will be provided for sessions, and attendees who register by January 18 will be eligible to win a Native Sonnox Essential bundle, with a value of approximately $900.
Every attendee will participate in four sessions, each designed to provide different experiences in the recording process and led by the founding members. Space is very limited.
METAlliance co-founder George Massenburg says, “Sonnox plugs combine innovative engineering and design and flawless execution. They go to extraordinary lengths to provide plugs that are always reliable.”
METAlliance co-founder Ed Cherney adds, “I won’t go into a mixing session without my Sonnox plugs. The Inflator let’s me make loud refs for my clients, without ruining my hard-fought balances. The reverbs are rich, deep and clear. The EQ is always pristine and phase coherent. Great tools that I always rely on.”
“In Session with The Guys” attendees will participate and interact with the METAlliance founders in live recording and mixing sessions. The first artist announced for the Avatar sessions is jazz luminary Kat Edmonson.
The inaugural 2010 METAlliance event in Hollywood at the historic studios in the Capitol Records tower gave participants a close-up look at basic tracking and mic techniques; in separate mixing sessions they were presented with the processes in significant detail and experienced in-depth critical listening.
Sonnox Ltd. evolved out of Sony Oxford, which designed the OXF-R3 digital mixing console, commonly referred to as the Sony Oxford console. The Native Sonnox Essential bundle includes Oxford EQ, Oxford Dynamics, Oxford Reverb, and Oxford DeEsser.
