Like other Recording Academy chapters nationwide, the Chicago Chapter of the Recording Academy will host a 47th Annual GRAMMY Awards Viewing Party, on Sunday, February 13 at the Hard Rock Hotel, Chicago, 224 North Michigan Avenue. The celebration will include a VIP Reception at 6 p.m., a viewing of the GRAMMY Awards telecast (CBS) at 7 p.m. and a post-telecast showcase featuring local acts Shawnna and Cameron McGill.
The celebration is Invite Only and free to Academy Members and a guest. RSVP is required. E-mail [email protected] to reserve tickets.
Following the hectic Grammy week, Pressure Point Recording Studios (2239 S. Michigan Avenue) will open their doors for the Chicago Chapter Producers & Engineers Wing’s Studio Sessions, a two-hour informational and interactive panel with Ed Cherney, George Massenburg and Elliot Scheiner, to be held on Thursday, February 17 at 2 p.m. and 6 p.m. (Guests must specify which session they will attend).
In addition, Shure will host a miking session and Panasonic will feature their equipment, including the 2004 Acura TL automobile which is equipped with the ELS surround sound system developed by Scheiner. A networking reception will follow with hors d’oeuvres and cocktails.
Tickets are $10 for members and $30 for non-members.
