Yamaha Corporation of America’s new Motif XS synthesizer workstation includes new Xpanded Articulation sounds featuring 355MB of waveform ROM, as well as a Performance Recording feature, with four intelligent arpeggiators and more than 6,000 phrases. Motif XS also includes an Integrated Sampling Sequencer with up to 1GB of memory for creating complete MIDI/audio productions, and studio-style mixing and VCM (Virtual Circuitry Modeling) effects from Yamaha’s high-end mixing consoles.
A large color LCD and eight assignable knobs and sliders allow hands-on control over virtually any parameter. FireWire and Ethernet computer connectivity, along with Steinberg’s Cubase AI software designed especially for Yamaha’s digital music production hardware, complete the package.
The XS line includes the XS8 (featuring an 88-note graded hammer-action keyboard with built-in FireWire
connectivity) at an MSRP of $3,999, the XS7 76-note version ($3,539) and the XS6 61-note version ($2,799).
